UNCO reached the National tournament his freshman season for the first time in school history and were awarded a 15 seed and a chance to knock off Kawhi Leonard and San Diego St. Tate emerged as a leader of the team his sophomore year and led the team in scoring and 3 point shooting. That year he scored a new career high 25 points against the 8th ranked team in the nation, Marquette. Tate was honored as an all Big Sky 2nd teamer in his junior campaign after leading the team in scoring for thre second straight year and setting a school record for most 3 pointers in a season. As a senior and three-time captain, the sharpshooter once again garneded all-conference 2nd team honors and was named to the preseason list of "Top 50 Shooters" in the country by CBS.

His professional career started in Melbourne, Australia where he led his Ringwood Hawks to an amazing 23-1 regular season record while averaging 21 ppg and shooting a blistering 52% from deep. He was also named a BIG V League 1st Team All Star at seasons end. In July of 2015, Tate signed with Marso NYKK of the Hungarian league where he finished in the top 5 in scoring. In his first season in Hungary, Tate made more 3's than anyone in the league, shooting a high percentage at 48% and was also named Eurobasket.com All-League Honorable Mention. After another successful season in Finland, Tate signed with Limburg United in the Belgian Euromillions Leage where he was named an All-League performer by Eurobasket.com. He led his team in scoring on their way to a playoff birth. Tate led the entire league in 3-pointers made and FT% (92%).

Born in Bartlesville, OK and raised primarily in Branson, MO. Tate married Hillary Newth on August 19th, 2017 and the two of them currently live in Belgium together with their newborn daughter, Bentley. Tate has a very big family that keeps growing and is follower of Christ. His list of achievements and awards on the basketball court runs long but Tate would be the first one to tell you that he finds his identity in The Lord, not as a basketball player.

"If Tate gets a little bit of space, he will make an incredibly high percentage of long range shots. Its almost a surprise if he misses."

"Through 20 years of coaching I have seen the best shoot the ball. No one shoots it better than Tate. His work ethic is second to none"
